My name is Jimmie Harper, and I have been looking forward to this summer for a very long time. The opportunity to work with your children is one that I am most grateful for. My heart is filled with joy at the prospect of getting to spend this summer working with RCOC’s Youth, and above all working together for God.

I am currently a junior at Harding University majoring in Social Science with a Teaching Licensure, as well as a minor in Bible. I hope to one day take my experience from my summers as a youth intern and apply the lessons I learn to the mission, a high school History class.

I spent last summer working for a church in Paris, Texas as a youth intern. When I arrived on the job there, I showed up with an open mind which was good because I was a freshman in college with absolutely zero experience in youth ministry. Since then, I have attained a better understanding of my own personal ministry, and how I can help and learn from the ministries of other Churches like RCOC.

I have also entered my job here with an open mind, but this time I have more expectations, from myself, from my colleagues, and from the youth group. My expectations are that myself, Tabitha, Brandon, the Youth Deacons, the Youth Group, and this Church will allow God to do amazing and spectacular things through us. I expect difficult times, and I expect more difficult times, but it is often the bad times that make the good times so good, and that is where our focus should be, on the good. By all that we hold dear on this good Earth, we will stand up for Christ.
