jdrfHi! I'm Kathryn Clemmons. I'm a freshman at Pelham High School this year, and attend church at Riverchase Church of Christ. I also have diabetes. I have been diabetic since I was three, so pretty soon I will have had diabetes for eleven years. I have had an insulin pump for nine years.

I have been a part of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (J.D.R.F.) Walk to Cure Diabetes for nearly ten years. Over the years, the walk's location has been in different places, and this year is no exception.

On Saturday, September 25th, 2010 at 9:00 A.M., the walk will be held at Veteran's Park for the first time. On that day over 1,000 people come out and support J.D.R.F.

There is a small breakfast provided if you come early, and plenty of games and activities for younger kids. It's a blast! Then, we walk! The simple walk is fun! If you walk with my team, Cures for Kathryn, you are surrounded by great people who have a common goal.

We want to cure diabetes. In order to do so, we raise money each year for research. If you are interested in donating there are three ways this year. You can give in cash, check, or online at, http://walk.jdrf.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=extranet.personalpage&confirmid=87742830. If you write a check you can make it out to J.D.R.F. If you have any other questions, you can call us at 205-620-0354!

To close, I want to thank you in advance for all your support! And like I have said before, on the day when a cure is found, you can think, "That's because of me! I helped!" Thanks so much, again!

Sincerely,

Kathryn Clemmons
